So in the past few years a lot of good Irish beauty brands have emerged onto the market. Today’s post is a review of some products from another one of these good Irish beauty brands, Bia Beauty. I hadn't heard much about Bia Beauty but when I was asked if I wanted to try some products for review, I of course said yes. I love supporting Irish companies and this company is very local to me. Bia Beauty is the brainchild of Tracey Ryan and it is made right here in Cork. All the ingredients of Bia Beauty products are 100% natural and are simple food ingredients, which you will see from my reviews. Let’s see what I have to review.
First up is the Detox Body Scrub (€19.95). Now to start off since I was sent this for review they have changed the packaging to a bottle and pump system, which I think is much better. This Detox Body Scrub is jam-packed with lots of lovely ingredients. It contains castor oil and sweet almond oil to moisturise, apricot kernel grains and black pepper for a good scrub and lemon, grapefruit, juniper, rosemary, fennel and ginger for its unique scent.
I have to say when I first smelled this scrub I was very intrigued. The combination of sweet almond oil mixed with some fresh citrus scents and pepper really surprised me. I honestly didn't think it would work but it really does. It smells super fresh and just very uplifting. The consistency of the scrub is just perfect for me too. It’s very grainy but the grains are small so no huge chunks that can be harsh or scratch your skin. It works really well to give your skin a good invigorating scrub but without been too drying. This is definitely a winner of a product for me.
Next is the Orange and Grapefruit Facial Exfoliant and Cleanser (€16.95). This facial exfoliant can be used at both an exfoliant and cleanser. Basically that means that it is a gentle exfoliator that contains some really good cleansing ingredients such as castor and thistle oil. Now usually I will remove my makeup before using an exfoliator in the shower, however to test out the cleansing properties of this I didn't. Instead I used this on its own to remove my makeup and it did a fantastic job. The natural Jojoba grains that work as an exfoliant are really good at removing dead skin cells but are gentle enough to be used on delicate skin areas, such as around the eyes. And for areas that you need extra exfoliation, such as around the nose or chin, I just apply a tad more pressure and use more circular movements. I found this actually very moisturising too. The natural oils it contains leaves your skin feeling lovely and soft.
However one of the things I love most about this product is the scent. It contains orange blossom water and orange and grapefruit essential oils. This gives it a lovely sweet but fresh citrus scent that is amazingly uplifting and refreshing. I especially love using this in my morning shower to give me that extra boost of happiness! On the scent alone I would buy this product but the fact it’s also a fantastic facial exfoliant is an added bonus.
So that’s all I have to show you from Bia Beauty. I am really impressed with the quality of these products and I am delighted to be supporting a fantastic local Irish brand. Bia Beauty products are available from selected stores and online. Check out their website here for a list of stockists and their online store.
