Lush Spa Days

Doesn't that just sound glorious? I can just imagine heading to a spa where you are wrapped in soft fluffy robes, relaxing music is been played and you are getting a whole host of treatments with Lush products. Now that sounds like heaven to me! However while this isn't possible, you can get a touch of that spa treatment at home with some wonderful Lush products. I was sent out a few bits to try recently and decided to give myself the ‘at home spa’ treatment.

Moon and Sun steamer tabs

First up is these Moon and Sun Steamer Tabs (€3.15 each). These steamer tabs were a very new idea to me and something I was curious to try out. I filled up a bowl with hot (not boiling!) water, dropped in one of these tabs and covered my head with a towel over the bowl. Now Moon and Sun contains lavender oil, for its cleansing and antibacterial properties and neroli oil, to help improve the tone of your skin. As we all know lavender is known in aromatherapy for its relaxing and soothing, often sleep inducing, properties while neroli oil is supposed to help with feelings of wellbeing and calmness. I have to say after 10 minutes of steaming my face, I definitely felt a lot calmer and to be honest, ready for bed. My skin felt much smoother and just lovelier. Once the water has cooled you can actually bottle it up and use it as a toner or refreshing spray, for a few days after. I have been using mine as a toner after cleansing.

Big Blue bath bomb

Next you can fill up a bath and drop in the Big Blue bath bomb (€3.90). This bath bomb smells amazing with lavender and a hint of lemon been the two main scents. I often find lavender scents too floral and overpowering but this isn’t the case with Big Blue, possibly because of the addition of lemon. Most Lush bath bombs have some form of confetti when they fizzle away and Big Blue is no exception. Big Blue contains bits of seaweed and sea salt to help soften and sooth the skin. Oh and it will turn your bath bright blue, with a hint of white foam. So essentially you’ll be lying in bright blue water, with seaweed floating around, smelling all tropical and relaxing. It’s a sun holiday in a bath bomb! And your skin will feel amazing after it. The only downside is having to pick the seaweed out of your bath afterwards!

Stepping Stone foot scrub

Lastly we have the Stepping Stone foot scrub (€3.95). As you can see from the pictures, mine shattered in the post but thankfully still very useable. This foot scrub is made up of sea salt and pumice and smells absolutely amazing. I am a massive lover of citrus smells and this has that perfectly balanced and refreshing citrus scent. You can use this in the bath or shower, or with my favourite method, after a good old long soak in a basin. Old school I know, but it does the trick. After soaking your feet for a while, mix a bit of the Stepping Stone with a little water to make a paste and scrub your feet with it. Then just rinse and see the water turn green. I loved this foot scrub. My feet felt much softer after and I loved the smell. It’s also very cheap and you could easily get 4 or 5 scrubs out of one, so even more of a bargain.

So I have to say after my night of treating myself to some Lush goodness, I was fit for bed. The combination of the warm water, lavender scents and relaxing steam, I was so relaxed I was falling asleep on the couch! I reckon everyone should treat themselves to a pamper day every so often. Do you do your own spa treatments at home??

Bye for now,

Mars
